You and your business should never, ever stop marketing. Marketing is key to a company’s survival and no business owner should ever let up on reaching out to customers and appealing to them.

A common issue that businesses encounter is when they get leads to make sales and create customers and then they become busy, stop marketing, and lose any chance of turning potential customers or clients into long term assets.

You should have a plan to always keep your pipeline of incoming and returning customers full. You should have a whole budget that is dedicated solely to marketing and you should always be thinking of new and improved ways to market, reach out, and attract new clients and customers.

 

Never Burn Bridges

Reputation is everything and it should be protected at all costs.

A new business needs to make sure that people have a high respect for them and hold them in high regard at all times too.

Even if a client or customer decides to end a relationship, you should always end things on a good note. You never know where a bridge may take you and your business. You might think that the relationship isn’t worth keeping but you aren’t sure what it could result in in the future. You might end up needing that relationship someday and it could be the doorway to greater, bigger opportunities.

And don’t forget your vendors! Vendor relationships are sometimes just as important as customer ones. Leads come from everywhere, from both the people who shop with you and those who provide you services.
